About your trainer.

My name is Mya. I have been working with dogs for over 10 years. I hold a certification from the renowned Karen Pryor Academy, which is something I take a significant amount of pride in, especially since the dog training industry lacks regulation. To further enhance my skills and knowledge, I continue my education through an apprenticeship with Who’s a Good Boy Ind., a respected organization based out of New York City. In this role, I work with a wide variety of challenging cases, gaining invaluable experience and learning more about the ethology behind effective dog training practices. I also work with the Wisconsin Humane Society as a behavioral advisor to help all different types of animals be successful in a stressful environment.

But what got me started?

My dream was to always be a vet. I have always had a passion for dogs, and that seemed the way to go! But, then I got my first challenging dog that I rescued from the side of the road. His name is now Benji.

Benji came to me with human and dog aggression. He completely changed the way I look at dogs. I knew after having him that I had to understand how he was truly feeling to be able to help him. Obedience wasn’t going to be enough.

Now here we are, years later. He has made so much progress. We do agility, dock diving, and plan on doing more! I have gained so much about dog behavior, all thanks to my own dogs. I now own 3 dogs and they are my pride and joy. I always make sure to treat clients dogs exactly like I would expect my own to be treated, with kindness and compassion.

Lets get to training!
